Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Financials and Electric Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.99%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3), which rose 4.62% or 0.39 points to trade at 8.84 at the close. Meanwhile, Localiza Rent a Car SA (SA:RENT3) added 4.00% or 1.51 points to end at 39.26 and Braskem SA (SA:BRKM5) was up 3.24% or 1.06 points to 33.81 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3), which fell 3.00% or 0.54 points to trade at 17.47 at the close. Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3) declined 2.75% or 0.40 points to end at 14.15 and Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3) was down 2.64% or 0.34 points to 12.55.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 196 to 158 and 32 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 5.36% to 26.31 a new 52-week low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.43% or 5.35 to $1241.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.56% or 0.29 to hit $52.46 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 0.27% or 0.39 to trade at $143.12 .
USD/BRL was down 0.16% to 3.1155, while EUR/BRL fell 0.08% to 3.3297.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 100.25.
