Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.80%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Gerdau SA (SA:GGBR4), which rose 10.42% or 1.26 points to trade at 13.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5) added 7.65% or 0.30 points to end at 4.22 and Metalurgica Gerdau SA (SA:GOAU4) was up 7.41% or 0.360 points to 5.220 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3), which fell 7.98% or 0.65 points to trade at 7.50 at the close. ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3) declined 4.72% or 0.260 points to end at 5.250 and Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) was down 2.69% or 0.34 points to 12.31.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 225 to 168 and 32 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 3.71% to 46.92 a new 6-months high.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.38% or 4.65 to $1219.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.16% or 0.07 to hit $43.48 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 1.43% or 2.28 to trade at $161.85 .
USD/BRL was up 1.26% to 3.4340, while EUR/BRL rose 0.13% to 3.6865.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.05% at 100.03.
