Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Electric Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.77% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Gerdau SA (SA:GGBR4), which rose 3.87% or 0.36 points to trade at 9.67 at the close. Meanwhile, Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4) added 3.35% or 0.35 points to end at 10.80 and Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3) was up 3.11% or 0.17 points to 5.63 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Klabin Unt (SA:KLBN11), which fell 3.37% or 0.58 points to trade at 16.64 at the close. Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) declined 2.79% or 0.30 points to end at 10.45 and Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) was down 2.43% or 0.57 points to 22.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 187 to 147 and 28 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.28% to 34.22.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.44% or 5.55 to $1258.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.63% or 0.82 to hit $49.62 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 1.11% or 1.62 to trade at $147.85 .
USD/BRL was down 0.33% to 3.2169, while EUR/BRL rose 0.10% to 3.6035.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 96.52.
