Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 2.12% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Azzas 2154 SA (BVMF:AZZA3), which rose 22.03% or 6.94 points to trade at 38.44 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Bradesco SA Pref (BVMF:BBDC4) added 15.64% or 2.04 points to end at 15.08 and Banco Bradesco SA (BVMF:BBDC3) was up 14.04% or 1.65 points to 13.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Minerva SA/Brazil (BVMF:BEEF3), which fell 7.69% or 0.43 points to trade at 5.16 at the close. Ultrapar Participacoes SA (BVMF:UGPA3) declined 3.69% or 0.62 points to end at 16.20 and Tim Participacoes SA (BVMF:TIMS3) was down 2.88% or 0.58 points to 19.57.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 589 to 340 and 60 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.92% to 29.60.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 2.27% or 77.13 to $3,314.77 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.63% or 2.11 to hit $60.18 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 0.73% or 2.80 to trade at $386.90 .
USD/BRL was down 1.39% to 5.67, while EUR/BRL fell 2.04% to 6.36.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.04% at 100.47.
