Trump tariff impact may be seen in Q2 earnings, Capital Economics says
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 1.49%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF:MGLU3), which rose 6.71% or 0.60 points to trade at 9.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:CSNA3) added 6.05% or 0.48 points to end at 8.42 and Embraer SA (BVMF:EMBR3) was up 5.34% or 3.55 points to 69.99 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3), which fell 2.38% or 0.50 points to trade at 20.50 at the close. Prio SA (BVMF:PRIO3) declined 1.82% or 0.80 points to end at 43.18 and Petroleo Brasileiro SA PN (BVMF:PETR4) was down 0.98% or 0.32 points to 32.21.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 595 to 363 and 52 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.81% to 26.99.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.41% or 48.70 to $3,404.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.81% or 1.29 to hit $70.00 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 1.33% or 4.60 to trade at $341.40 .
USD/BRL was down 1.00% to 5.49, while EUR/BRL fell 0.87% to 6.35.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 97.69.
