Trump reportedly floated firing Fed Chair Powell in talks with House GOP
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate, Consumption and Electric Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.66% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:YDUQ3), which rose 6.82% or 1.02 points to trade at 15.97 at the close. Meanwhile, BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3) added 4.78% or 0.94 points to end at 20.62 and Vivara Participacoes SA (BVMF:VIVA3) was up 4.68% or 1.08 points to 24.14 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3), which fell 6.72% or 0.16 points to trade at 2.22 at the close. Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4) declined 5.00% or 0.06 points to end at 1.14 and IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF:IRBR3) was down 3.37% or 1.63 points to 46.76.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 673 to 294 and 50 ended unchanged.
Shares in Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4) fell to all time lows; falling 5.00% or 0.06 to 1.14.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.36% to 30.27.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.69% or 53.94 to $3,242.24 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.17% or 1.37 to hit $61.78 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 2.55% or 9.30 to trade at $374.10 .
USD/BRL was up 0.71% to 5.68, while EUR/BRL rose 0.89% to 6.35.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 100.65.
