Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate, Financials and Public Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were B3 SA Brasil Bolsa Balcao (SA:B3SA3), which rose 5.06% or 1.01 points to trade at 20.98 at the close. Meanwhile, CEMIG - Companhia Energetica Minas Gerais Pref (SA:CMIG4) added 4.10% or 0.27 points to end at 6.86 and Equatorial Energia SA (SA:EQTL3) was up 3.56% or 2.03 points to 59.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA Pref (SA:GOLL4), which fell 4.33% or 0.48 points to trade at 10.61 at the close. Companhia de Saneamento do Parana Sanepar Unit (SA:SAPR11) declined 3.55% or 1.75 points to end at 47.57 and BRF SA (SA:BRFS3) was down 3.50% or 0.68 points to 18.77.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 248 to 203 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in BRF SA (SA:BRFS3) fell to 5-year lows; down 3.50% or 0.68 to 18.77.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.03% to 34.58.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.24% or 3.10 to $1267.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.71% or 0.49 to hit $68.09 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 0.12% or 0.14 to trade at $117.17 .
USD/BRL was down 0.32% to 3.7743, while EUR/BRL rose 0.13% to 4.4183.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 93.94.
