Goldman gives "buy" rating to Nvidia, citing signs of early AI monetization
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Public Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Banco Santander Brasil SA Unit (BVMF:SANB11), which rose 4.65% or 1.34 points to trade at 30.17 at the close. Meanwhile, Tim Participacoes SA (BVMF:TIMS3) added 3.51% or 0.71 points to end at 20.95 and Petroleo Brasileiro SA PN (BVMF:PETR4) was up 3.33% or 1.00 points to 31.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Metalurgica Gerdau SA (BVMF:GOAU4), which fell 3.92% or 0.38 points to trade at 9.31 at the close. Gerdau SA Pref (BVMF:GGBR4) declined 3.68% or 0.65 points to end at 17.00 and IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF:IRBR3) was down 3.34% or 1.68 points to 48.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 480 to 433 and 55 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tim Participacoes SA (BVMF:TIMS3) rose to all time highs; up 3.51% or 0.71 to 20.95.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.91% to 26.06 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.92% or 30.62 to $3,374.02 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 4.56% or 2.96 to hit $67.94 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 1.52% or 5.40 to trade at $349.65 .
USD/BRL was down 0.62% to 5.54, while EUR/BRL fell 0.13% to 6.36.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 98.63.
