TSMC Q2 sales jump 39% on robust AI-driven chip demand
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Public Utilities, Financials and Electric Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Embraer SA (BVMF:EMBR3), which rose 4.29% or 2.83 points to trade at 68.86 at the close. Meanwhile, Marcopolo SA (BVMF:POMO4) added 2.84% or 0.21 points to end at 7.61 and Petroleo Brasileiro SA (BVMF:PETR3) was up 2.76% or 0.92 points to 34.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (BVMF:MRVE3), which fell 4.68% or 0.29 points to trade at 5.90 at the close. BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3) declined 3.14% or 0.67 points to end at 20.69 and YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:YDUQ3) was down 3.06% or 0.53 points to 16.77.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 513 to 412 and 50 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.34% to 26.41.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.91% or 63.70 to $3,407.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.51% or 0.35 to hit $68.50 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 1.20% or 4.20 to trade at $346.45 .
USD/BRL was unchanged 0.00% to 5.54, while EUR/BRL rose 0.77% to 6.41.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.72% at 97.89.
