Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Electric Power and Public Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Braskem SA (BVMF:BRKM5), which rose 9.15% or 0.93 points to trade at 11.09 at the close. Meanwhile, Raizen SA Preferred (BVMF:RAIZ4) added 7.00% or 0.14 points to end at 2.14 and Direcional Engenharia SA (BVMF:DIRR3) was up 4.53% or 1.71 points to 39.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azzas 2154 SA (BVMF:AZZA3), which fell 6.07% or 2.50 points to trade at 38.70 at the close. Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF:MGLU3) declined 4.96% or 0.47 points to end at 9.00 and Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3) was down 3.06% or 0.13 points to 4.12.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 472 to 445 and 64 ended unchanged.
Shares in Direcional Engenharia SA (BVMF:DIRR3) rose to all time highs; up 4.53% or 1.71 to 39.48.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 9.09% to 29.53.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 2.00% or 66.06 to $3,361.06 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.85% or 0.52 to hit $61.72 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 0.26% or 0.95 to trade at $359.80 .
USD/BRL was down 1.19% to 5.65, while EUR/BRL fell 0.38% to 6.42.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.88% at 98.97.
