Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Tim Participacoes SA (BVMF:TIMS3), which rose 6.77% or 1.26 points to trade at 19.87 at the close. Meanwhile, Brava Energia SA (BVMF:BRAV3) added 6.74% or 1.16 points to end at 18.37 and Petroreconcavo SA (BVMF:RECV3) was up 4.26% or 0.54 points to 13.21 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:PCAR3), which fell 20.21% or 0.77 points to trade at 3.04 at the close. BB Seguridade Participacoes SA (BVMF:BBSE3) declined 7.44% or 3.12 points to end at 38.82 and Minerva SA/Brazil (BVMF:BEEF3) was down 6.36% or 0.37 points to 5.45.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 514 to 443 and 53 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tim Participacoes SA (BVMF:TIMS3) rose to all time highs; rising 6.77% or 1.26 to 19.87.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.72% to 29.55.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 3.32% or 110.45 to $3,432.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.38% or 1.93 to hit $59.06 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 0.39% or 1.50 to trade at $389.75 .
USD/BRL was up 0.54% to 5.72, while EUR/BRL rose 1.11% to 6.51.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.59% at 99.06.
