Investing.com -- U.S. President Donald Trump’s trip to the Middle East continues to reap rewards for U.S. companies. Today, the President announced that Qatar has signed a record-setting agreement with Boeing Co (NYSE:BA) to purchase aircraft.
The deal is worth $96 billion and includes 210 American-made Boeing 787 Dreamliner and 777X aircraft powered by GE Aerospace (NYSE:GE) engines.
Kelly Ortberg, President and CEO of Boeing, was with the President in Qatar signing the order.
This is Boeing’s largest-ever widebody order and largest-ever 787 order.
“Kelly’s telling me, from Boeing, it’s the largest order of jets in the history of Boeing,” Trump stated. “That’s pretty good."
The White House said the agreement will support 154,000 U.S. jobs annually, totaling over 1 million jobs in the United States during the course of production and delivery of this deal.
Boeing’s shares gained 2.5% intraday on Wednesday following the announcement.
