Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 1.22%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which rose 0.33% or 0.19 points to trade at 58.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Ageas (BR:AGES) fell 0.23% or 0.085 points to end at 36.540 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was down 0.39% or 0.12 points to 30.86 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which fell 3.11% or 3.35 points to trade at 104.40 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 3.05% or 2.39 points to end at 75.86 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was down 2.15% or 1.680 points to 76.280.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 84 to 32 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.27% or 3.35 to $1255.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.67% or 0.33 to hit $49.40 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.59% or 0.31 to trade at $52.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1134, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.8562.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 97.45.
