Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which rose 0.64% or 0.34 points to trade at 53.74 at the close. Meanwhile, bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 0.48% or 0.10 points to end at 22.12 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) was up 0.44% or 0.45 points to 103.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which fell 1.40% or 0.42 points to trade at 29.68 at the close. Ageas (BR:AGES) declined 1.36% or 0.500 points to end at 36.140 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was down 1.31% or 0.185 points to 13.985.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 67 to 40 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.31% or 3.85 to $1255.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.71% or 0.36 to hit $50.24 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.73% or 0.39 to trade at $53.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.0660, while EUR/GBP rose 0.59% to 0.8538.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 100.45.
