Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which rose 3.19% or 1.75 points to trade at 56.68 at the close. Meanwhile, Proximus NV (BR:PROX) added 0.93% or 0.28 points to end at 29.88 and UCB (BR:UCB) was up 0.84% or 0.62 points to 74.63 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Solvay SA (BR:SOLB), which fell 1.45% or 1.80 points to trade at 122.70 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 0.83% or 0.27 points to end at 32.08 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) was down 0.68% or 0.31 points to 45.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 63 to 47 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Proximus NV (BR:PROX) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 0.93% or 0.28 to 29.88.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.09% or 1.14 to $1228.04 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.67% or 0.31 to hit $45.91 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.86% or 0.42 to trade at $48.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.63% to 1.0929, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8447.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.56% at 98.97.
