Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 1.15%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Groep Brussel Lambert NV (EBR:GBLB), which rose 0.98% or 0.70 points to trade at 72.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) added 0.94% or 0.50 points to end at 53.60 and Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB) was up 0.63% or 1.40 points to 222.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which fell 3.99% or 6.50 points to trade at 156.45 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) declined 3.64% or 20.60 points to end at 546.00 and Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) was down 1.72% or 1.10 points to 62.78.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 46 to 45 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB) rose to all time highs; up 0.63% or 1.40 to 222.40.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.88% or 30.21 to $3,392.59 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.15% or 0.68 to hit $58.41 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.22% or 0.76 to trade at $61.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 99.39.
