Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Financials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 1.14%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Elia (EBR:ELI), which rose 2.58% or 2.45 points to trade at 97.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Ageas (EBR:AGES) added 1.17% or 0.65 points to end at 56.35 and Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB) was up 1.01% or 2.20 points to 221.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which fell 3.98% or 6.75 points to trade at 162.95 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) declined 2.14% or 12.40 points to end at 566.60 and Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) was down 1.76% or 0.95 points to 53.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 49 to 45 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB) rose to all time highs; rising 1.01% or 2.20 to 221.00.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 2.55% or 84.61 to $3,406.91 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 4.04% or 2.31 to hit $59.44 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.69% or 2.22 to trade at $62.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 99.32.
