Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 1.07%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB), which rose 1.49% or 1.10 points to trade at 74.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Elia (EBR:ELI) added 1.34% or 1.25 points to end at 94.30 and Aedifica (EBR:AOO) was up 0.62% or 0.40 points to 65.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which fell 3.52% or 5.65 points to trade at 154.85 at the close. KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) declined 1.98% or 1.74 points to end at 86.26 and Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) was down 1.86% or 1.22 points to 64.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 59 to 32 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.95% or 64.36 to $3,359.36 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.64% or 0.39 to hit $61.59 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.57% or 0.37 to trade at $64.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.57% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.68% at 99.17.
