Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB), which rose 2.06% or 0.70 points to trade at 34.64 at the close. Meanwhile, Sofina (EBR:SOF) added 1.72% or 3.60 points to end at 212.80 and Aedifica (EBR:AOO) was up 1.42% or 0.85 points to 60.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which fell 3.07% or 4.35 points to trade at 137.15 at the close. Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) declined 1.63% or 1.38 points to end at 83.20 and KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) was down 1.05% or 0.72 points to 67.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 49 to 37 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.04% or 1.05 to $2,460.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.10% or 0.08 to hit $81.52 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.12% or 0.10 to trade at $85.18 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 103.73.
