Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which rose 2.00% or 2.60 points to trade at 132.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Ageas (BR:AGES) added 1.02% or 0.405 points to end at 39.985 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 0.81% or 0.110 points to 13.670 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which fell 1.34% or 0.69 points to trade at 50.79 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 0.81% or 0.55 points to end at 67.28 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was down 0.76% or 0.490 points to 63.990.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 65 to 48 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.00% or 2.60 to 132.80.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.05% or 0.65 to $1225.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.42% or 0.22 to hit $53.15 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.63% or 0.35 to trade at $55.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.0566, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8484.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 101.35.
