Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 1.47% or 0.88 points to trade at 60.73 at the close. Meanwhile, Telenet Group (BR:TNET) added 1.03% or 0.60 points to end at 58.74 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was up 0.87% or 0.38 points to 43.57 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KBC (BR:KBC), which fell 0.48% or 0.320 points to trade at 66.410 at the close. Ageas (BR:AGES) declined 0.33% or 0.125 points to end at 37.655 and Sofina (BR:SOF) was down 0.27% or 0.35 points to 129.35.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 56 to 47 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Telenet Group (BR:TNET) rose to all time highs; rising 1.03% or 0.60 to 58.74.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.67% or 8.39 to $1264.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.23% or 0.60 to hit $49.50 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.87% or 0.45 to trade at $51.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.40% to 1.1165, while EUR/GBP rose 0.82% to 0.8732.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 97.45.
