Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.17% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (BR:SOLB), which rose 1.28% or 1.40 points to trade at 110.85 at the close. Meanwhile, NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) added 1.18% or 0.54 points to end at 46.11 and Elia (BR:ELI) was up 1.00% or 0.475 points to 47.885 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which fell 0.51% or 0.075 points to trade at 14.545 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 0.49% or 0.10 points to end at 20.46 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was down 0.39% or 0.09 points to 22.88.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 59 to 59 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.16% or 1.95 to $1203.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.29% or 0.14 to hit $48.35 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $51.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.0661, while EUR/GBP fell 0.73% to 0.8717.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 101.17.
