Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Utilities and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 1.21% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB), which rose 5.46% or 3.65 points to trade at 70.50 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB SA (EBR:UCB) added 3.37% or 5.25 points to end at 161.15 and Lotus Bakeries (EBR:LOTB) was up 3.17% or 260.00 points to 8,460.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS), which fell 3.84% or 2.10 points to trade at 52.65 at the close. KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) declined 3.39% or 2.84 points to end at 81.06 and Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) was down 3.15% or 0.26 points to 8.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 57 to 36 and 12 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.40% or 13.35 to $3,320.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.96% or 1.79 to hit $58.63 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.92% or 1.85 to trade at $61.43 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 99.26.
