Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 1.02%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which rose 3.83% or 18.60 points to trade at 504.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Aedifica (EBR:AOO) added 2.79% or 1.75 points to end at 64.55 and UCB SA (EBR:UCB) was up 2.62% or 4.05 points to 158.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which fell 1.44% or 0.94 points to trade at 64.22 at the close. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) declined 1.38% or 0.85 points to end at 60.65 and Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) was down 1.18% or 0.10 points to 8.38.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 45 to 45 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.20% or 38.81 to $3,187.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.43% or 0.88 to hit $62.50 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.26% or 0.81 to trade at $65.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.38% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 101.04.
