Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.91% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which rose 5.61% or 4.23 points to trade at 79.61 at the close. Meanwhile, Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) added 4.74% or 0.54 points to end at 11.94 and D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) was up 2.77% or 5.30 points to 196.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which fell 1.53% or 2.50 points to trade at 161.35 at the close. Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) declined 0.91% or 0.07 points to end at 7.04 and Sofina (EBR:SOF) was down 0.55% or 1.40 points to 254.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 75 to 30 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.94% or 25.30 to $2,669.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.55% or 0.37 to hit $68.04 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.38% or 0.27 to trade at $71.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 100.21.
