Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Beverage and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.50% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP), which rose 2.34% or 0.56 points to trade at 24.50 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB SA (EBR:UCB) added 2.31% or 3.75 points to end at 165.75 and D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) was up 2.16% or 4.10 points to 194.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS), which fell 2.16% or 1.60 points to trade at 72.55 at the close. KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) declined 1.60% or 1.14 points to end at 70.28 and Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB) was down 1.21% or 2.30 points to 188.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 59 to 48 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.92% or 24.35 to $2,683.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 4.02% or 2.74 to hit $70.91 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.71% or 2.66 to trade at $74.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 101.00.
