Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC), which rose 2.85% or 2.42 points to trade at 87.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) added 2.49% or 1.80 points to end at 74.15 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) was up 2.45% or 0.70 points to 29.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sofina (EBR:SOF), which fell 3.48% or 9.00 points to trade at 249.60 at the close. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) declined 2.64% or 1.60 points to end at 59.05 and Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) was down 0.97% or 0.62 points to 63.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 58 to 37 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.45% or 46.26 to $3,233.56 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.95% or 0.59 to hit $62.56 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.75% or 0.49 to trade at $65.90 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.63% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.64% at 100.30.
