Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.27% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB), which rose 4.17% or 7.20 points to trade at 179.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Elia (EBR:ELI) added 2.01% or 1.95 points to end at 99.10 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) was up 1.99% or 0.62 points to 31.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 1.71% or 0.46 points to trade at 26.38 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) declined 1.27% or 6.00 points to end at 468.10 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI) was down 0.40% or 0.22 points to 55.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 57 to 35 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.17% or 7.20 to 179.80.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.97% or 24.75 to $2,535.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.41% or 1.83 to hit $74.08 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.93% or 1.52 to trade at $77.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 101.60.
