Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which rose 4.49% or 2.02 points to trade at 47.02 at the close. Meanwhile, bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 3.01% or 0.38 points to end at 13.01 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was up 1.98% or 0.43 points to 22.11 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (BR:ACKB), which fell 1.36% or 1.90 points to trade at 137.40 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.33% or 1.140 points to end at 84.740 and Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) was down 1.20% or 0.98 points to 80.44.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 53 to 48 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (BR:ACKB) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.36% or 1.90 to 137.40. Shares in Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.20% or 0.98 to 80.44.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.72% or 8.80 to $1230.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $71.39 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.10 to trade at $80.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1590, while EUR/GBP rose 0.17% to 0.8807.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 94.69.
