Investing.com – Australia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Energy, Gold and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 fell 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Domino'S Pizza Enterprises Ltd (ASX:DMP), which rose 21.30% or 6.31 points to trade at 35.93 at the close. Meanwhile, Collins Foods Ltd (ASX:CKF) added 12.69% or 0.94 points to end at 8.35 and Mesoblast Ltd (ASX:MSB) was up 7.19% or 0.21 points to 3.13 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Beach Energy Ltd (ASX:BPT), which fell 5.21% or 0.08 points to trade at 1.37 at the close. Resolute Mining Ltd (ASX:RSG) declined 2.78% or 0.01 points to end at 0.35 and News Corp B DRC (ASX:NWS) was down 3.80% or 2.14 points to 54.14.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 551 to 517 and 459 ended unchanged.
The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 4.02% to 10.55.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.38% or 10.99 to $2,887.69 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.47% or 0.33 to hit $70.94 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.54% or 0.40 to trade at $74.69 a barrel.
AUD/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 0.63, while AUD/JPY rose 0.17% to 95.33.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 107.63.
