Dick's more than doubles its dividend

Dick's Sporting Goods' (NYSE:DKS) quarterly dividend rocketed 105.1% last week to $1 per share, or a 3% annual yield. The dividend will be payable on March 31, 2023, to stockholders of record on March 17, 2023, with an ex-dividend date of March 16, 2023.

The company also said it earned $2.93 per share for Q4, $0.04 better than the average analyst estimate, while also beating on the top line, causing shares to spike higher.

Following the beat and share surge, a parade of analysts raised their price targets on the shares, including to $148 from $125 at JPMorgan and to $163 from $142 at Goldman Sachs.

The stock was up more than 10% for the week.

Oracle's massive hike

Oracle (NYSE:ORCL) ratcheted up its quarterly dividend by 25% to $0.40, for an annual yield of 1.8%. The dividend will be payable on April 24, 2023, to stockholders of record on April 11, 2023, with an ex-dividend date of April 10, 2023.

Guggenheim called the report "impressive," reiterating its Buy rating and Best Idea designation for the stock, but shares slid on the news and Societe Generale cut the stock's rating to Hold from Buy.

The stock lost 6% for the week.

Build-A-Bear's jumbo special dividend

Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc (NYSE:BBW) declared a special dividend of $1.50 per share, for a 7.3% annual yield. The dividend will be payable on April 6, 2023, to stockholders of record on March 23, 2023, with an ex-dividend date of March 22, 2023.
