WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden believes that authorizations for the use of military force that have been used to justify U.S. attacks on overseas targets should be re-examined, the White House said on Friday.

Democratic Senator Tim Kaine and Republican Senator Todd Young introduced legislation this week to repeal the 1991 and 2002 Authorizations for the Use of Military Force (AUMF) against Iraq, citing the “strong partnership” between Washington and the government in Baghdad.

White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Biden wanted to work with Kaine on the issue.

"He wants to discuss a narrow and specific framework moving forward. Obviously, it's outdated," she told reporters. "That's the discussion he hopes to have in partnership and with the leadership of Senator Kaine and determine what the approach and framework should be as we look ahead."

Psaki said that the recent airstrikes in Syria that Biden approved were legal.

"The Syria airstrikes were of course - we had a whole legal process and review. We're confident in the legal authorities for that strike," Psaki said.

I predict he'll start a war he cant finish
So following this logic. If, say, Russia or China deems it legal, then its okay for them to do airstikes in the US
Biden has been in Washington all of his life. Why hasn't he mentioned this before or better, yet, done something about it?
This Guy is bringing SO MUCH FRESH AIR to America !!
Obama, Hillary and VP Biden got us in Syria to begin with. Trump cleaned up their mess, defeated ISIS (Obama/Clinton/Biden created) and brought our troops home from Syria. Biden is sending troops back in and continue what Obams/Clinton/Biden started. That is not refreshing. That is the opposite of refreshing. I hope you don't have a son, daughter, relative or friend die in Syria because of your "fresh air."
Considering I haven't been able to find anyone to work for less than $12 the last 3 years wouldn't make much difference just to the franchises and big business that reward inept executives with tens of $millions and punish the grunts that actually get the work done
Look here....don't look here! Distraction
Yes most companies can pay more than 7.25 an hour giving only 20 to 30 hours a week; even more when it actually goes into effect 5 or 10 years from now. Instead of building that new home, or buying that boat, consider treating your employees, who made it so you could even consider it, better
Flawed thinking. Employees are paid what they are worth.
wow ..Canada pays aALOT betterI guess you guys are used to working for nothing
Both are bad ideas. The minimum wage will hurt small business' the most since most large companies are nearing that level anyway.  Large companies have always had an easier time increasing wages, as they hold a lot of market share which enables them to easily pass the increase to the cconsumer, or invest in tech to eliminate low paying jobs.  It's the small guy, like the contractor, landscaper, fab shop, etc. who are looking to grow and hire there first or second employee who that are hurt.
And local grocery stores, small manufacturing companies, convenience stores... The list goes on and on. Oh and don't forget the majority of the jobs that high school and college kids do part-time for extra money. Those will all be gone too.
hopefully it will bankrupt the fast food industry and you fat Americans can be thin again like the rest of the world. oh and you'll save money on health insurance when you are not fat. see it is a blessing in disguise
so Biden bombs Syria instead of delivering the $15 minimum wage promised many times.
Apfel Wein, are you complaining that they didn't pass the $15 min wage?
I think so. Sure sounds like it. Even though the article has nothing to do with minimum wage. And most people don't understand the implications of passing a massive increase like that. Then they wonder why they have to pay twice as much at the grocery store. But whatever. They will just find someone to blame. Never their own lack of knowledge.
badaladida.. I see words coming out of your trap but nothing is really being said
