Peru stocks lower at close of trade; S&P Lima General down 0.06%

Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Industrials and Food & Beverages sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.06% to hit a new 6-months low.

The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb), which rose 5.33% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.790 at the close. Meanwhile, Relapasa (LM:REL) added 2.44% or 0.005 points to end at 0.210 and Unacem (LM:CEL) was up 1.72% or 0.050 points to 2.950 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Candente Copper (LM:DNT), which fell 14.29% or 0.0090 points to trade at 0.0540 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 3.08% or 0.020 points to end at 0.630 and Minsur (LM:MINi) was down 2.11% or 0.030 points to 1.390.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 19 to 6 and 9 ended unchanged.

Shares in Trevali Mining (LM:TV) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.08% or 0.020 to 0.630.

Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.26% or 0.19 to $74.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.53% or 0.41 to hit $78.17 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.37% or 4.60 to trade at $1258.10 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was up 0.15% to 3.2904, while EUR/PEN rose 0.37% to 3.8395.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 94.19.
