Breaking: Trump Says Decision to Restart U.S. Economy to Be Made ‘Shortly’

Investing.com - President Donald Trump asserted in a tweet Monday that the decision to restart the economy was solely his and that such a decision will be made “shortly”.

“It is the decision of the President, and for many good reasons” and not that of local officials, Trump tweeted.

“With that being said, the Administration and I are working closely with the Governors, and this will continue,” Trump said. “A decision by me, in conjunction with the Governors and input from others, will be made shortly!”

Stocks had little reaction to the tweet, with the S&P 500 still down around 2%.
