Investing.com - Output in the UK manufacturing sector grew 0.3% in December, according to figures published on Friday by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
That was in line with consensus.
The 0.4% rise in November was revised down to a gain of 0.2%.
Industrial production fell 1.3% in December, compared with the previous month, below the consensus forecast for a decline of 0.9%.
November’s reading was revised down to a gain of 0.3%, from the initial 0.4% advance.
On an annualized basis, manufacturing production rose 1.4% in December.
That compared to the forecast for a gain of 1.2%.
In November, manufacturing production rose 3.8% year-on-year, revised higher from an initial 3.5%.
Year-on-year, industrial production was unchanged in December.
Analysts were looking for a 0.3% advance.
The reading came after a 2.6% rise in November that was revised up from 2.5%.
