  • Ex-American-Russian computer intelligence consultant Edward Snowden’s urge and interest in Bitcoin surged after Bitcoin hit $16.5K.
  • The whistleblower recalls the BTC price echoing the March 2020 plunge.
  • Snowden confirmed “this is not financial advice,” due to no prior knowledge of the matter.

Whistleblower Edward Snowden has shown interest to buy into $16.5K Bitcoin. As Bitcoin price action has consolidated below $17,000 Snowden draws attention to buying Bitcoin for the first time after the March 2020 crash.

The largest cryptocurrency has failed to show convincing signs of recovery after losing more than 25% since the previous week due to the FTX crisis. At the time of writing, the fiasco was still underway, with discoveries spreading to include more corporations with major exposure to the defunct exchange.

BTC price movement remained unexpectedly poor with little light at the end of the tunnel evident. Similarly, the founder and CEO of trading platform Eight, Michaël van de Poppe feels that the “markets are consolidating.”

Meanwhile, BTC/USD is expected to see more negative volatility and will continue to fall from cycle highs. Poppe mentioned that the assumption would be going down to $10K, due to the recent crypto market dip and ongoing chaos.

Edward Snowden provided an interesting contrast. In his own tweet, he indicated that he would be a BTC buyer at present levels, a stance he previously expressed during the March 2020 COVID-19 cross-market catastrophe.

“There’s still a lot of trouble ahead, but for the first time in a while, I’m starting to feel the itch to scale back in,” he stated.

Following that, in a second tweet, Snowden stressed and confirmed that his previous tweet “is not financial advice,” due to no prior knowledge of the matter.

On the contrary, some of the Twitterati responded to Snowden. Trash_benny replied said to Snowden “remind me in two years” whereas a few others said to Snowden “remind me in 6 months”.
