The Bahamas Is a Nation of Laws: Bahamas Attorney General

  • Crypto exchange FTX remains a subject of scrutiny by the Bahamian authorities.
  • There is an active and ongoing investigation going on FTX: Attorney General Ryan Pinder.
  • Ben Armstrong flew to the Bahamas in a bid to interview FTX’s former CEO, SBF.

The bankrupt crypto exchange FTX remains a subject of scrutiny by the Bahamian authorities. The Bahamian Attorney General Ryan Pinder said on Sunday that they are in an early stage of an active and ongoing investigation on FTX.

The 20-minute speech, which was streamed live online, addressed the defunct crypto exchange FTX more than 40 times but just once specifically referred to Sam Bankman-Fried as its disgraced founder.

The Attorney General further added:

“We have been shocked at the ignorance of those who assert that FTX came to the Bahamas because they did not want to submit to regulatory scrutiny. In fact, the world is full of countries in which there is no legislative or regulatory authority over the crypto and digital asset business, but The Bahamas is not one of these countries.”

Furthermore, Pinder believes that “the basic facts have been obscured by guessing games and rumors” while pointing out that the failure of FTX was only one collapse in a string of business failures in recent months. He also added that what transpired is better explained as a case of a very large business failing due to dubious internal management practices and corporate governance.

In other news, Ben Armstrong, the founder of BitBoy Crypto, flew to the Bahamas in a bid to interview FTX’s former CEO, Sam Bankman-Fried. Armstrong recently has been seen camping outside Bankman-Fried’s home in the Bahamas.

Armstrong in a recording shared on Twitter is seen asking Bankman-Fried to come out for a talk:

Sam… Where are you? We’re looking for you. Just wanna talk Sam. I know that’s where you are at buddy. It’s Ok. Sam, in all seriousness, we just want you to come tell your story. Unblock me on Twitter. Come tell your story. Let’s talk”.

Subsequently, the influencer criticized Bankman-Fried after FTX just went under, causing a crypto crash. In the wake of FTX’s bankruptcy, he also attacked the celebrities who were earlier seen promoting FTX.
