The famous Hollywood actress is notably one of the founders of production company ‘Hello Sunshine,’ which amplifies the voices of female creators, telling women’s stories and putting them in the center of media attention and the entertainment industry.
As an actress who has starred in over 50 movies, Whitherspoon said that the highest goal one can achieve is to own your work. During a podcast appearance on with ‘nft now,‘ she admitted that in the music, film, and television industries, owning your work was never possible. It was all owned by studios and publishing record labels.
Web 3.0 is all about building communities, challenging the term ‘ownership,’ and putting creators in the driver’s seat.
“Young people being able to go into a space and feel safe that their work is their own is so exciting to me. I wish I had been a 20-year-old young filmmaker and able to go into a space where it's like, I'm going to own this, and every time I iterate on it, I'm going to own it still, and I'm only going to work with people who really, truly love it. What a gift!” Witherspoon exclaimed, sharing her passion for NFTs.
‘Hello Sunshine’ is partnering with ‘World of Women’ to inspire and support female artists. The partnership will produce feature films, scripted and unscripted TV series’, live events, and powerful stories; World of Women’s NFTs are even planned to be transformed into TV characters. The collaboration between the two will see the organization of a live event intended to educate women about NFTs.
