Private Jet Booking Service Replaces XRP Payment With XMR

  • Private jet booking service TapJets has started accepting Monero (XMR) as payment for its platform.
  • With this, TapJets has removed XRP from one of its crypto payment methods.
  • Aside from XMR, TapJets clients can pay in other cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin.

Private jet booking company TapJets has announced through a press release that it will start accepting Monero (XMR) as payment for its instant booking platform. They have also effectively removed XRP from one of their crypto payment methods.

According to TapJets, XMR is a viable payment method since the service naturally requires anonymity and privacy for their clients. Essentially, some of these do not want to reveal their travels to social media. Hence, the jet booking service found Monero’s privacy properties appealing for its clients.

TapJets Co-Founder Eugene Kesselman said,

“With bookings using Signal and payment by Monero, and complete confidentiality of flight records, TapJets is the only platform to safeguard your privacy and ensure it is shared strictly on “need to know” basis and only with your permission.”

Meanwhile, TapJets has decided to remove XRP from its available crypto payment methods due to the ongoing Ripple lawsuit. Since December last year, XRP has been struggling to steady its footing after a number of exchanges delisted it. In fact, Coinbase also received a lawsuit for selling XRP in the US.

TapJets has started accepting cryptocurrency as payment since 2015. Aside from XMR, TapJets also accepts other mainstream cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin.

At the time of writing, XMR price is at $206.45, according to CoinGecko.
