EU Should Build Trust Relationship with Crypto Business to Prevent Cybercrimes - Europol

Crypto mining attacks can rise to number one cybercrime threat, and therefore the European Union (EU) countries should work together with the digital currency companies to effectively fight these illegal activities, the EU’s law enforcement agency Europol urged in its annual cybercrime report published on Tuesday.

The Organized Crime Assessment Report (IOCTA) 2018 was presented by Philip Amann, head of Strategy at the European Cybercrime Center (EC3), during the opening ceremony of the joint Interpol-Europol Cybercrime Conference in Singapore.

Police and investigative departments across the European Union should fight both “innovative and persistent forms of cybercrimes” Amann told the attendees while giving details of the IOCTA 2018.
