Cryptojacking has been overtaken as the number one cyber threat by Trojan horses for both business and consumers in the third quarter of this year, US security company Malwarebytes Labs said on Monday. The firm, which publishes quarterly online cyber-attack analyses, also detected an 88% increase of crypto ransomware incidents.

According to the new data, cryptocurrency mining malware fell 26% for business and 32% for consumers compared to Q2 2018. Trojan software ranked first for both groups, followed by hijackers and adware, and adware and backdoor malware for companies and consumers respectively.
