The NFT artist omgkirby has joined forces with rapper and producer Channel Tres to bring a unique music NFT collection consisting of 5550 songs. The grand launch will happen on September 22nd, 2022. The Compton-bred singer & songwriter Sheldon Young, better known as Channel Tres is best known for his hit single “Topdown”. Now, music & NFT fans are in for a treat with this one-of-a-kind music NFT collection.

Early Bird Gets The Worm & A Discount

Interestingly, the NFT minting schedule leaves a 6-hour gap between the public mint and an exclusive NFT holder mint, which will also cost less. For instance, holders of the OMG Genesis NFT will be served first and will pay only 0.045 ETH (Ethereum), which converts to about $60. The limit is set to 1:1 against the Genesis Token NFT.

Two hours later, at 8PM on September 22nd, 2022, OMG PFP owners will be able to mint their Channel Tres NFTs. The minting process will set the NFT enthusiasts aback $87, or 0.065 ETH (Ethereum). Last but not least, friends & family of OMG Kirby & Channel Tres will be able to mint their NFTs at 10:00, two hours prior to the public mint event.

5500 Songs Ready for Commercial Use Through NFTs

The omgkirby x Channel Tres NFT collection comes fully loaded with hits, each of them produced and performed by Channel Tres. Moreover, the NFT owners will be able to use it for commercial use. For instance, an NFT enthusiast will have the legal right to upload the purchased track on Spotify (NYSE:SPOT), YouTube, iTunes, Tidal, Deezer or any other music streaming platform that pays royalties.

Of course, the music NFT can be used for your own creativity, for example a podcast, YouTube channel intro or even a TV show, similarly how actor Seth Green intended to use his lost & found Bored Ape.

Ultimately, as well put by the spokesperson of OpenSea, “history will be made” on September 22nd, 2022. The first-ever primary ETH (Ethereum) NFT drop will happen throughout the day, with other established artists besides omgkirby in the digital art world of NFT like Hypemoon and fxnction dropping their NFT collections too.

On the Flipside

  • OpenSea, the most popular NFT marketplace, has lost 20.62% in total sales since last month.

Why You Should Care

The upcoming Channel Tres x omgkirby NFT collection presents a cutting edge technology for the fans. The distribution of songs through NFTs including a commercial license can set a new trend in the music industry.
