Bored Apes are Finally Playable: Animoca Brands and BAYC Create a New Blockchain Game

The time has come! Everybody who has wondered about any other purpose of NFTs than using them as fancy, expensive JPEGs for your avatar and profile pictures have now finally found the answer.

To dive right into the matter, one of the most popular NFT collections, ‘Bored Apes,’ produced by Bored Ape Yacht Club, are set to be implemented into a new blockchain game. The studio announced the new stage for their NFTs as a result of a fresh partnership with Animoca Brands, the world’s biggest blockchain games investor and software company.

This means that NFTs are finally taking their place in the crypto world. admittedly, they were viewed as useless without any ecosystem for them to interact in, however, when blockchain gaming and the metaverse took to the stage the puzzle was quickly solved.

Returning to the game itself, the developers haven’t yet revealed any details about the gameplay mechanics, graphics, or even the game’s future available platforms; the only thing we know is the approximate release date, which is currently slated to be Q2 of 2022. Naturally, as befits a game based on blockchain technology, the game will be play-to-earn.
