Investing.com - Bitcoin was trading at $15,702.4 by 18:15 (23:15 GMT) on the Investing.com Index on Thursday, up 10.06% on the day. It was the largest one-day percentage gain since November 5.

The move upwards pushed Bitcoin's market cap up to $287.4B, or 65.80% of the total cryptocurrency market cap. At its highest, Bitcoin's market cap was $261.6B.

Bitcoin had traded in a range of $14,099.7 to $15,739.9 in the previous twenty-four hours.

Over the past seven days, Bitcoin has seen a rise in value, as it gained 14.95%. The volume of Bitcoin traded in the twenty-four hours to time of writing was $39.1B or 30.39% of the total volume of all cryptocurrencies. It has traded in a range of $13,134.4873 to $15,739.8721 in the past 7 days.

At its current price, Bitcoin is still down 20.98% from its all-time high of $19,870.62 set on December 17, 2017.

Elsewhere in cryptocurrency trading

Ethereum was last at $418.71 on the Investing.com Index, up 4.17% on the day.

Tether was trading at $1.0007 on the Investing.com Index, a loss of 0.01%.

Ethereum's market cap was last at $47.2B or 10.81% of the total cryptocurrency market cap, while Tether's market cap totaled $16.9B or 3.86% of the total cryptocurrency market value.
