According to the announcement, Animoca Brands will be responsible for intellectual property (IP) and content development as a blockchain gaming producer. And, Coincheck will take the role of distribution and community development in the Japanese market.
So far, two NFT projects from Animoca Brands have been listed and traded on the Coincheck NFT marketplace. The two NFT projects are namely — LAND NFTs and Otherdeed NFTs.
LAND NFTs are developed by The Sandbox metaverse. Otherdeed NFTs represent virtual real estate in Otherside, a metaverse project by Yuga Labs and Animoca Brands that is connected to the Bored Ape Yacht Club.
The Managing Executive Officer and the lead of new Web3 businesses at Coincheck, Kensuke Amo expressed his views on this strategic partnership saying:

Earlier in May 2022, Coincheck acquired Otherdeeds for Otherside and started development on the new metaverse city “Oasis MARS” located in Otherside.
Currently, Animoca Brands is working to advance digital property rights and contribute to the establishment of the open metaverse. The company developed tokens like the REVV token and original games like The Sandbox, Crazy Kings, and Crazy Defense Heroes. The company has also created products that utilize popular intellectual properties such as Disney, WWE, Snoop Dogg, and many more
