(Reuters) - Igor Sechin, the head of Russian oil major Rosneft, said on Saturday that BP (NYSE:BP) still remains its largest private shareholder despite having announced its departure in February after Moscow sent troops into Ukraine.

Speaking at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, Sechin, a long-standing ally of President Vladimir Putin, said BP also still owns stakes in large-scale Rosneft projects including Taas Yuriakh, Kharampurneftegaz and Yermak Neftegaz.

He said dividends accruing to BP would be transferred to special accounts, but did not elaborate further.

BP : "Yeah. Bad Vlad !!" (But let's not be stupid.)
Omg. Shameful. I hope bp sell their stock and stop sponsoring the murderous regime
ok buy the shore can hold all developments and stop investing and gradually find a way to sell
BP wrote its Rosneft stakes off. They will not appear in BPs balance sheets anymore. This is a question of accounting and bookkeeping. If the stake is not in the books that is like they don't exist. Another question is that of the ownership of the stake: can they sell it, will it be confiscated, no one knows.
Another amoral perspective from. India. What a surprise.
