Joseph L. Shaefer
More Information
Joseph L. Shaefer is the CEO and Chief Investment Officer of Stanford Wealth Management, LLC, a Registered Investment Advisor.
Joe retired as a senior executive at Charles Schwab and Co. to found Stanford Wealth Management, LLC, in 1990. He also spent 36 years in a very different leadership role: both active and reserve military service, the first six in special operations, the next 30 in intelligence, retiring as a Brigadier General. The geopolitical experience and purview gained in those roles provides a more balanced, thoughtful and competent view of the risks and opportunities both in the US and beyond.
Stanford Wealth Management is both a risk manager and a wealth manager. Opportunities abound, but only if pursued with an understanding of all the risk factors first.
Author of the investment primer Bringing Home the Gold, Joe is also editor of Investor’s Edge®. In the 15 years from inception through year-end 2013, the two Investor’s Edge® model portfolios increased in value from $400,000 to $1,527,629. That same $400,000 invested in the S&P 500 rose to just $695,899, including dividends. (Past results are no guarantee of future performance.)
Joe has been featured in Forbes, Barrons, Financial World, the Wall Street Transcript, and numerous other publications, and has been a guest on ABC, NBC, PBS, FNN and CNBC.
