The Phil Flynn Energy Report 10-28-2019 Oct 28, 2019 4:38PM ET
Good info, thanks.
The Energy Report: China Colored Glasses Oct 10, 2019 3:47PM ET
Liberal Lunacy?  Come 'on, Phil.  It is a well thought out strategy.  Keep raising prices, taxes, costs, danger until only the rich and their slaves (err, servants) can afford to live there.  Think of all the prime real estate that can be bought up once all those 'people' are driven out of their homes.and the state.  To quote Marie Antoinette "If they can't afford lights, let them install solar panels."  Unfortunately Californi... seems good, even when someone is a victim of it.
Oil Market Math: How To Price In Mounting Geopolitical Threats Sep 27, 2019 10:53PM ET
Sssh, Ellen, you\'re exposing the man behind the curtain!  Actually I think most people involved in actuarial science would disagree that the numbers are made up and that they aren\'t quantifiable.  Certainly the results are quantifiable.  Which is why actuaries make the big bucks (many of them).  Do I sense a hint of disdain at sadistics, err, statistics? Sssh, Ellen, you're exposing the man behind the curtain!  Actually I think most people involved in actuarial science would disagree that the numbers are made up and that they aren't quantifiable.  Certainly the results are quantifiable.  Which is why actuaries make the big bucks (many of them).  Do I sense a hint of disdain at sadistics, err, statistics?

For someone who doesn't know the correct name of the Houston Ship Channel, you are certainly an expert on refinery operations and engineering.  Better stay close to your desk (in Chicago?), might get some more good intel.
The Energy Report: Where’s My Tanker? Jul 16, 2019 1:56PM ET
"that it was not headed to Libya"?  I thought the problem was with Syria.  Libya doesn't need Iranian oil.
Will The Gulf Storm Hit The Oil Industry? Here's What To Watch Jul 11, 2019 1:45PM ET
It is exceedingly rare for a Gulf storm to impact Corpus, the Houston metroplex (including Galveston and Baytown), Orange/Port Arthur, and the LOOP.  Since all of these are more or less connected, that alleviates some of the disruption.  Harvey was an exception - a devastating exception.  It is possible for it to happen again  That coast likes to hug hurricanes.
The Energy Report: Oil Price Broke Out To The Downside May 27, 2019 12:33AM ET
Hard to have confidence in a analyst who doesn't know the proper name of the primary export channel from Texas.  It's the Houston Ship Channel, Phil, not the Houston Shipping Channel.
The Energy Report: Crude Risks And Conundrums May 16, 2019 12:28AM ET
Houston Ship Channel, Phil, Houston Ship Channel.
3 Developing Situations Threatening Oil Supply Could Trigger Price Rises Mar 28, 2019 9:09PM ET
It's called the 'Houston Ship Channel'.
Global Oil Demand Slipping In 2019; Will Saudi Act Alone To Defend Price? Feb 14, 2019 2:10PM ET
If Dr. Wald doesn't know why the Saudi's appear to be acting unilaterally, then nobody knows (except the principals). Perhaps they feel the infrastructure bottlenecks in US production will limit supply.  Perhaps they feel that an incremental decrease in their exports will be offset by a larger incremental price increase.  Or perhaps they are betting that the price will bust upwards when the summer cooling season is upon us and they will be able to unload stored supplies then.
Oil Out Of Touch With Fundamentals Dec 27, 2018 9:14AM ET
I've got the coffee.
The Energy Report For December 26, 2018 Dec 26, 2018 5:07PM ET
Good call, Mr. Fekyeusef.
Give Trade A Chance Dec 04, 2018 11:13AM ET
My read is that the DRC made a lot of talk, but not much solid affirmation in their statements.  I think the term is 'deflection'.
WTI, Brent Prices Down As U.S. Shale Industry Again Defies Expectations Nov 01, 2018 10:03AM ET
"According to reports, they are waiting for additional oil and gas pipeline capacity that is in progress but not yet online."  What significant additional capacity is in progress?
Fear And Speculation Rule As Oil Markets Ignore Reality Oct 07, 2018 9:28AM ET
Reread Dr. Wald's opening paragraph: "The fear is that at some point over the next several months there will not be enough oil available on the global market to fully satisfy customer demand. The speculation is that this fear will push oil prices into the triple digits."
Crude Oil: 10_05_18 Oct 06, 2018 8:35PM ET
Failed to mention increased use of natural gas as a feedstock in the chemical processing industries.
Are Oil Prices Sustainable Above $80 Or Even Higher? Sep 20, 2018 9:35AM ET
My guess, which has as much weight as a frog croak, is a trend upwards.  Thanks for your analysis.  May the Atlantic storms only bring good surf and may you have a delightful Autumn.

3 Things That Could Impact Oil Prices During September (And Beyond) Aug 30, 2018 10:11PM ET
The Strait of Hormuz, IMO, is a significant wild card for the price of oil.  One incident there would greatly increase the cost of oil.  There are a lot of proxy agents ready and willing to act.
3 Things That Could Impact Oil Prices During September (And Beyond) Aug 30, 2018 10:00PM ET
Really?  From where is your information?  US EIA gave 10.9, 11.0, 11.0 Mbd for their last 3 reports (08/10, 08/17, 08/24 respectively).  Can you quote your sources?
How Turkey's Current Problems Could Benefit Iranian Oil Aug 15, 2018 11:07AM ET
Yes, Iran would gladly accept the Lira for oil, but what will that do for the Lira?  BTW, The US dollar is the official currency of El Salvador and Ecuador.
Pipeline Crunch Impact On Shale Oil Companies May Be Overblown Aug 01, 2018 10:51AM ET
While trucking is a temporary solution, it also relies on sufficient skilled drivers and both rail/truck rely on enough equipment.  One major incident/accident in San Antonio or Houston will constrain supply even more.  I often wondered why Midland had 8 lane roads through town.  How do you read the news from Mexico?
Iran And The Flow Of Oil Jul 26, 2018 11:31AM ET
And all this time I've been hearing the words to that song wrong.  Thanks for refining them for us.
The Energy Report 03/22/17 Jul 24, 2018 1:22PM ET
Since reading him the price of WTI has gone from $25 to close to $70 today.  You are free to follow whatever advice that tickles your ears. https://www.investing.com/commodities/crude-oil
The Energy Report 07/10/18 Jul 10, 2018 10:17PM ET
I remember a presentation by Lech Walesa (you know who he is, right?) who said the world needs a policeman, and the US is, by far, the best for the job.  But he also said that no one likes a policeman.
