6k on XIV. We'll see what happens. All of these spikes in volatility this year have presented great opportunities to buy low and sell high in a matter of days.

Agreed.  You never know for sure, but based on a variety of variables  and algorithms that are usually pretty reliable, I see high probability of VIX decline, and XIV increase, in the coming days or weeks.  This is of course, assuming that nothing serious and unexpected pops up to scare everyone.

Vix futures trades on 1 exchange - the CME. All brokers provide the exact same quotes from the CME. It's not like forex which is complete nonsense IMHO. The spreaders on vix futures are just a tick. It's only a question of commissions. I recommend tastyworks. The have very low commission rates and all closing trades are FREE

Vix futures = 11.18 as I write this.  I believe the probability of higher levels at some point in the comings weeks, is now very high.

Based on my algo's, I believe the probability of an increase in VIX at some point in the coming 4 weeks, is now very high. When that happens, I suspect VIX will likely approach 12 or so, and if it breaks through 13, then 15 or higher would not surprise me shortly after. Note I am talking about VIX, and not VIX futures. Of course, futures will also increase when VIX does.

Back on Apr. 27 custom algorithms of my own design involving multiple variables, were showing high probability of an increase. We certainly saw that increase today (futures = 14.43 as I write this). . . Of course we can never be 100% certain, but now I see very high risk of a VIX pull-back in the near future, and I see no clear indications at the moment concerning the longer run (ie, coming weeks) as VIX could go either way in my opinion.. .

Well, there's the short-term drop we were expecting. . . Re. Fear: Seems you are right in saying there is not enough "fear" right now. I believe the market is mostly driven by algorithms, and the computers don't know what fear is! I am constantly amazed these days at how small the market reaction is, to very scary events happening around us!
