S&P 500 Futures Discussions

So I closed out all of my positions, mostly long, on Monday. Never gone to all cash before. I am convinced market will go sub 3800, even down to 3600 within 2 months. Yields and dollar going up. Fed tightrning via capital reserve requirements. Higher corporate taxes promised. My portfolio was up when I sold everything. I do not short. Too risky. My question is: how long has everyone been able to sit out before buying back in? Rather rational person. Very ecperirnced option trader. Feeling anxious. Told myself I will not buy back in for at least 2 weeks. I was trading full time and always on my phone. Needed a mental break at minimum. Market got super bearish over last week. Seemed like a top was in since last Wednesday. Appreciate any feedback.
That's close to my strategy.  IMO much larger correction will come after April, which tends to be the most bullish month for stocks.
and when did you sell and go to cash? Do you wait for index to bottom or really low prices on equities that you previously held?(and ignore index somewhat)
Historically, I've had only two positions, and S&P index fund, and cash. I started purchasing individual equities maybe 5 years ago, futures and options within the past 2 years.  I didn't like the January monthly candle on this, I was full on bullish with OTM calls from May of last year until Feb.  I started scaling out of long positions mid Feb, was 100% cash by last Friday. I am shorting futures now, and will continue. I flipped the switch from buy the dip to short the spike, basically.  I'd like to see us revisit the summer lows before I consider going long anything.  And I want to see a 10:1 ratio of declining to advancing stocks to buy, that seems to be a pretty decent indicator historically.  It would have got you back in too early last March, but that was a rather extreme sell off.  It usually coincides with the bottom better.
